Le Médecin Malgré Lui

From Spanking Art

Le Médecin Malgré Lui (The Doctor in Spite of Himself) is a farce by Molière from 1666. This stage play is one of the comparatively rare examples of spanking in performing arts.

The spanking scene[edit]

Spoiler warning

Sganarelle, a poor woodcutter, makes life a living hell for his wife and family by spending what little he earns on food and drink. As the play opens, he is seen arguing with and eventually beating his wife, Martine, a scene of domestic violence.

In performances of the play, this is often acted out as an M/F spanking in the OTK or underarm position. Sganarelle generally uses some sort of spanking implement, not his flat hand.
